The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA will officially open its doors to members on Saturday, June 25, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A Public Grand Opening will take place on Sunday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with special guests will take place at 1 p.m. on June 26. The Hendricks Regional Health YMCA is located north of Rockville Road at 301 Satori Parkway, Avon.
The facility has been created through a unique partnership between Hendricks Regional Health and the YMCA. It will be the most fully-integrated YMCA and medical center in Indiana, with services blended seamlessly under one roof.
The entire community is invited to explore the 122,000 square-feet Hendricks Regional Health YMCA featuring an indoor aquatics center, state-of-the- art wellness center, dance/aerobics studio, gymnasium, teen center, indoor rock-climbing wall, physical and occupational therapy services, cardiac rehabilitation, lab and x-ray services, medical practices, sports medicine, nutrition counseling, diabetes education and child watch services. Restaurant and retail space is also available inside the facility. Outdoor areas, opening this autumn, include sports fields and an outdoor education center. As part of the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA grand opening, the Town of Avon will celebrate the establishment of its newest park, a 7.5 acre area sitting to the north of the new YMCA. Through an agreement with the YMCA, the park will be leased for 15 years by the Town of Avon with an annual lease payment of $133,000 designated from the Food & Beverage tax fund. Included in the agreement will be additional benefits for all Avon residents, including:
• YMCA restroom access for park visitors
• Free teen night once each month
• Annual YMCA programming coupon of $50 for each family that resides within the Town of Avon
• Free community night – one night per year with free YMCA access for all Town of Avon residents
• More than three miles of public walking trails and wetlands preservation area at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA development called Satori Pointe
