Hendricks Regional Health is proud to offer job shadowing opportunities at different times throughout the year for aspiring healthcare professionals. Generally they are available in September, May and February, and will be posted on the job application section of our website. 

It’s important to know that job shadowing is different than an internship. With a job shadow experience, students are observing/following a healthcare provider or team to see if that role is a fit for them. Our Volunteer Services team coordinates job shadow scheduling and will do their best to match individuals with the most relevant, enriching opportunity.

Qualifications for a Standard Shadow Request:

• Must be at least 16 years old for standard job shadow experiences
• Some opportunities require participant be 18 years old
• Observation only
• Does not extend beyond 7 days

Job Shadow Application Process:

• Check our Careers section for job shadow openings by typing “Job Shadow” in the search box of the page
• If there are current shadowing opportunities, there will be an opening to apply and fill in the information with your area of interest as well as times/days of availability
• Opportunities are added three to four times per year so be sure to check regularly
• Volunteer Services will review each application carefully while evaluating department needs and availability
