The complete heart and vascular care available at Hendricks Regional Health includes a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Lab at our Danville Hospital. We perform both diagnostic catheterization procedures to assess coronary and peripheral artery blockages and interventional procedures to treat heart and vascular disease. The services performed at our Cardiac Cath Lab are vital components in the overall prevention, detection and treatment of heart and vascular disease.
Care is provided by cardiovascular specialists right here in our community—eliminating delays and inconvenience for patients and families. In the pursuit of expanding our expertise and accessibility at Hendricks Regional Health, we partner with Community Health Network. When you put your heart in our hands, you get the confidence that comes from choosing a cardiovascular team that consistently performs above the national average in heart care and vascular care.
Interventional treatments for blockages in the coronary and peripheral arteries include balloon angioplasty and placement of stents to restore blood flow to the heart and peripheral vascular system. Other treatments available include the use of intravascular ultrasound, atherectomy and thrombectomy (clot-busting therapy).
Physicians specializing in cardiac electrophysiology also perform pacemaker and defibrillator implants in our Cardiac Catheterization Lab. An electrophysiologist is a doctor who diagnoses and treats problems with your heart's electrical system, such as abnormal heart rhythms. Pacemakers and defibrillators are devices sometimes used to treat abnormal heart rhythms.
