Ophthalmology / Eye Surgery

The Hendricks Regional Health medical staff includes ophthalmologists, who are specially trained to provide the full spectrum of eye care, from prescribing glasses and contact lenses to complex and delicate eye surgery. They diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions including cataracts, diseases of the cornea and retina, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, ocular surface disease and more. Our ophthalmologists provide surgical care at Hendricks Regional Health including laser eye surgery and cataract surgery.

Who Should See an Ophthalmologist?

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology you should have your eyes examined by an ophthalmologist if you have signs or risk factors for eye disease, including decreased vision, distorted vision, new floaters or flashes of light, a curtain blocking your vision, halos (colored circles around lights) or red eye. Those who have eye pain or have experienced an eye injury also can benefit from an ophthalmologist. Ophthalmologists also are an important part of the health care team for patients managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes.
